The arrival of the Director General of Falmakes, BPFK DKI Jakarta, and BIM to the ASKI production facility aims to provide support as well as strengthen cooperation between the government and industry in the development of domestically produced medical devices. Through this visit, Dr. Lucia hopes that the medical device industry in Indonesia will continue to develop both in terms of quality and quantity, while at the same time increasing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) contained in medical equipment products. It should be noted that TKDN is being a special concern of the government in the current medical equipment budget.

“I really appreciate ASKI which has room to grow in developing the domestic medical equipment industry with a high TKDN value. In the future, I hope ASKI can produce more types of medical devices,” said Dr. Lucia.

The presence of the Director General of Falmakes, BPFK DKI Jakarta, and BIM was welcomed directly by the President Director of ASKI, Prihatanto Agung Lesmono, which was followed by a review of the medical equipment production process at ASKI which has been certified ISO 13485:2016 regarding the quality management system specifically for the medical device industry, starting from the machine- injection machines, assembling and inspection areas, as well as research and development areas. Prihatanto also explained the overall medical equipment development process flow from the planning, product design, process design, validation, to mass production stages.

Furthermore, Prihatanto said that so far ASKI has developed and produced at least 15 products including medical devices, namely High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Suction Pump, Eostra Aerosol and Droplet Suction Machine, Frezair air purifier hepa filter, as well as anthropometric sets that consisting of a medical flat scale, digital baby scale, stadiometer, infantometer, and medical measuring tape or upper arm circumference tape. In the near future, ASKI will produce two other types of medical devices, namely Autoclave 24 liters and Ultrasonography or 2D USG.

“In addition to the products I have mentioned, ASKI already has a long-term roadmap to develop medical devices. We also collaborate with several universities such as UI, UGM, and Poltekkes in terms of research on medical devices," said Prihatanto.

ASKI will plan to develop and expand the layout of the health care unit and add laboratory facilities which will later be used to improve the quality and production capacity of medical devices. In closing, ASKI and BIM presented a thank you plaque to the Director General of Falmakes which ended with a group photo.
