Akashi Wahana Indonesia Plants 15,000 Mangroves and Supports People with Disabilities

The Astra Otoparts Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on communities and the environment.

Guided by the three pillars of Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution (3P), as well as the Astra Otoparts 2030 Sustainability Aspirations, PT Akashi Wahana Indonesia (AWI), in collaboration with several partner companies, donated three wheelchairs and six prosthetic limbs to athletes of the National Paralympic Committee of Indonesia (NPCI) and planted 15,000 mangrove trees in the coastal area of Tiris Beach, Pasekan District, Indramayu Regency.

The donation handover, held in early May 2026, was attended by Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim.

“Everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and contribute to society. Through this initiative, we hope the beneficiaries will gain greater mobility and increased confidence. We also hope that the mangrove planting program will deliver long-term benefits for both the environment and local communities,” said Noboru Matsumoto, President Director of Akashi Wahana Indonesia.

Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim expressed his appreciation for the Company’s contribution and commitment to supporting the local community and environment.

“We highly appreciate the commitment of Akashi Wahana Indonesia and its partners in supporting the people of Indramayu, both through assistance for NPCI athletes and environmental conservation initiatives. We hope that positive collaborations such as this will continue and generate meaningful benefits for the community,” said Lucky Hakim.
