PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (Astra Otoparts) held the 37th Astra Otoparts Innovation Convention (AOIC) on September 21, 2026, at PT Inti Ganda Perdana in Karawang. As an annual event, AOIC serves as a platform to recognize and share innovations, experiences, and best practices from companies across Astra Otoparts Group.
Under the theme “Growth Thru Digitalization & Excellence,” the 37th AOIC demonstrated the continued expansion of innovation opportunities across Astra Otoparts Group, marked by the introduction of two new categories: Business Performance Improvement (BPI) and Value Chain Innovation (VCI). These categories encourage innovation beyond work process improvements, extending its focus to enhancing business performance and optimizing the value chain across Astra Otoparts Group. This year, AOIC also introduced the Design Thinking approach to help identify problems and develop more appropriate solutions.
Yusak Kristian Solaeman, President Director of Astra Otoparts, emphasized that the spirit of innovation fostered through AOIC should continue to be applied in employees’ respective workplaces. “Make innovation a habit, a culture, and a way of working every day,” he said.
The continued drive for improvement was also reflected in the innovation exhibition, which provided an opportunity for 16 selected finalists from 80 teams across 38 Astra Otoparts subsidiaries to showcase their best work. Beyond presenting improvement outcomes, the exhibition served as a platform for participants to share knowledge, explore different approaches to innovation, and learn best practices that could be applied to the needs of their respective companies.
In addition, the 37th AOIC offered insights into the use of technology through a session led by Timothy Laksmana, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Marketing Consultant, who discussed AI as a partner in collaboration and innovation. Participants explored how AI can help generate and develop improvement ideas, while human experience and an understanding of real-world conditions remain the foundation for determining the right solutions.
As Astra Otoparts celebrates its 50th anniversary, the 37th AOIC reflects how the journey toward the future is shaped not only by the technologies adopted but also by the courage to look at challenges from new perspectives, develop ideas, and work together to create greater value. A simple idea developed in the workplace can grow into meaningful change that benefits the company, its customers, and the entire Astra Otoparts Group ecosystem.
