Astra Otoparts Facilitates 1,000 Travelers in the 2026 Free Homecoming Program

JAKARTA: Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration, the annual homecoming tradition (mudik) once again becomes a highly anticipated moment for Indonesians to reunite with their families in their hometowns. In welcoming this occasion, PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (“Astra Otoparts”) organized the 2026 Free Homecoming Program on 17 March 2026 at Balai Samudera, Kelapa Gading.

This year, the program was carried out through collaboration among Astra Otoparts’ product brands, namely GS Astra, KYB, and Akebono, providing homecoming transportation facilities for business partners and the public.

GS Astra is widely recognized as a battery brand offering products for both two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles. Meanwhile, KYB provides shock absorbers for motorcycles and cars, while Akebono is known for its brake pad products for four-wheel vehicles.

“Through our collaboration with GS Astra, KYB, and Akebono, we aim to deliver broader benefits to the community while strengthening our connection with business partners and product users who have grown alongside Astra Otoparts,” said Martogi Siahaan, Director of Astra Otoparts.

The send-off ceremony was attended by Astra Otoparts’ management. The event began with an opening session, followed by a symbolic flag-off ceremony marking the start of the participants’ journeys to their respective destinations. Participants were then dispatched in stages using the buses provided.

A total of 22 buses were deployed, transporting approximately 1,000 participants to several destination cities in Central Java and East Java. The participants consisted of Astra Otoparts’ distribution network partners, including selected workshops and spare parts retailers in the Jakarta–Bekasi–Bogor area, as well as members of the public who joined the program through GS Astra, KYB, and Akebono’s social media channels.

In its implementation, Astra Otoparts provided two main travel routes. The first route covered Jakarta – Semarang – Solo – Yogyakarta, while the second route included Jakarta – Ngawi – Surabaya – Malang. Participants were able to choose their drop-off city based on the available routes.

This program forms part of Astra Otoparts’ efforts to help the public enjoy a safe and comfortable homecoming journey, while also reducing the use of private vehicles during the Eid travel period.

Through this initiative, Astra Otoparts aims to support smooth public mobility during the Eid homecoming season by providing alternative transportation options. The program also reflects the Company’s commitment to delivering meaningful benefits to the community while strengthening relationships with business partners in the Jakarta–Bekasi–Bogor area.
