BANDUNG – As innovation rooted in local potential continues to grow, the push to strengthen domestic industry has become an increasing focus. Carrying the spirit of enhancing Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN – Domestic Content) and supporting locally made innovations, PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (“Astra Otoparts”), part of the Astra Group, participated at the Astra booth during the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) Convention 2025, held on 7–9 August 2025.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, cabinet ministers, as well as leaders from various industrial sectors and academia. Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the Bandung Institute of Technology, KSTI 2025 served as a cross-sector forum to strengthen the national industrial ecosystem under the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity.”
Astra Otoparts showcased a range of healthcare technology innovations developed by its subsidiary, PT Astra Komponen Indonesia (ASKI). These products not only reflect the spirit of technological self-reliance but also represent homegrown innovations that support the resilience of Indonesia’s healthcare system.
Highlights from the Astra booth included a 4D Ultrasound, Blood Pressure Monitor, 7-Parameter Patient Monitor, 12-Channel Electrocardiography (ECG), Digital Column Scale with Digital Height Measurement, and both Digital Flat Scales and Digital Baby Scales. All of these products are domestically made and integrated with hospital information systems in compliance with the standards set by the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
“Strengthening the domestic technology ecosystem is key to achieving self-reliance in the healthcare sector. With the spirit of local innovation, we remain committed to delivering relevant healthcare technology that adds value to sustainable national economic growth,” said Prihatanto Agung Lesmono, Director of Astra Otoparts.
Since 2020, Astra Otoparts, through ASKI, has diversified into the healthcare equipment sector. To date, the company has developed 33 types of medical devices with a TKDN level of 40–59% and a Corporate Benefit Weight (Bobot Manfaat Perusahaan) of 12.7%. These achievements demonstrate Astra Otoparts’ contribution to strengthening national industry, empowering local MSMEs, and supporting environmental sustainability.
All mechanical design, electronic component development, software creation, and tooling manufacturing are carried out domestically by ASKI. This underscores Astra Otoparts’ strategic role in building a self-reliant national manufacturing ecosystem.
Through its participation in KSTI 2025, Astra Otoparts not only introduced locally produced technology but also fostered long-term collaboration between industry, government, and academia.
This initiative is part of Astra Otoparts’ ongoing commitment to strengthening the foundation of Indonesia’s healthcare industry and opening opportunities for more local innovations in the future.
