JAKARTA: Astra Otoparts as KYB's shock absorbers distributor in Indonesia, which is the market leader in shock absorbers for both the automotive manufacturing market (OEM) and replacement parts market (REM), will launch its newest variants, which are technologically KYB New SR Special and KYB Lowfer Sports Japan and match the characteristics of road contours in Indonesia. Both of these products are the answer to the customer's aspirations to have shock absorbers that offer a balance in terms of performance and driving comfort.
Presents Balance in Performance and Driving Comfort
"When changing shock absorbers, we usually have to choose, to prioritize performance or comfort. With these shock absorbers, KYB New SR, we can now get both more balanced, "said Product Manager KYB Yandi Hermanto. Two of the latest product variants have been tested to improve control functions, cornering capabilities, and braking. So that it can provide more sporty driving characteristics for customers.
KYB also introduced KYB Lowfer Sports which was designed not only to produce a more sporty ride but also to improve the appearance of the vehicle. "KYB Lowfer Sports is also designed for those who like to modify the height of the car to make it more flat," Yandi said. In addition, KYB Lowfer Sports has a Lowfer Sports Plus type with a premium feature of fourteen levels of damping force for rear shock absorbers, while being able to increase grip in controlling the car.
At present most of the standard shock absorbers of Japanese ATPM production cars in Indonesia are KYB products, even products in the replacement parts market are also dominated by KYB products. "But for high performance shock absorbers, there is no brand that dominates the Indonesian market," said Astra Otoparts Rio Sanggau, Chief Executive Marketing of Astra. "Therefore we see opportunities in this market," he added.
These two new KYB products are indeed placed to enter the high performance shock absorbers market, especially for car owners who are not satisfied with the performance of the standard shock absorbers or those who want to improve the ability of the shock absorbers owned by their cars. "We are targeting cars in the premium segment and modified cars. Especially cars that have improved engine performance, which certainly requires high-performance shock absorbers, "Rio said.

KYB New SR is priced at Rp. 5 million to Rp. 7 million for one set (four), while for KYB Lowfer Sports the price is Rp. 6 million to Rp. 8 million for one set (four). As for KYB Lowfer Sports Plus, the price is Rp. 8 million to Rp. 10 million for one set (four). In addition to adding to the convenience of consumers, KYB also offers coil spring (per) as a KYB Lowfer Sports pair for Rp. 3 million to Rp. 4 million for one set (four).
