Supporting the Proud National Movement Made in Indonesia, ASKI Launches Domestic Medical Device Products

As an effort to support government programs, namely the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) and domestic production of medical devices (alkes) through the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), PT Astra Components Indonesia (ASKI) launched a 2D USG, Anthropometry Set (digital flat scale , digital baby scale, stadiometer, infantometer, and measuring tape), as well as the Autoclave which is a domestic medical device product created by the nation's children which is expected to increase the resilience or resilience of the national medical device.

It was launched offline by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, CHFC, CLU., Acting Regent of Kab. Bogor, Mr. H. Iwan Setiawan, S.E., and Director of Astra as well as President Director of Astra Otoparts Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim, and President Director of ASKI Prihatanto Agung Lesmono at ASKI plant 1 area, Citeureup, Bogor (2/11).

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in his speech expressed his appreciation, "I am grateful for what ASKI has done today, namely the launch of domestic medical devices, in the future hopefully the domestic medical equipment industry can develop in accordance with the third pillar, namely building the transformation of the health resilience system. Because we want to make sure that at least 50% of the drugs, vaccines, and medical devices can be produced domestically to achieve national medical equipment resilience.”

“It is a great pride and achievement for us for ASKI, which previously only produced automotive components, then made a breakthrough by producing non-automotive products, especially for the health industry. I hope that the various innovations carried out by ASKI can continue Astra's mission to prosper with the nation by providing a positive impact on the wider community," said Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim.

After the launch, the event continued with a visit to the medical equipment production facility guided by the President Director of ASKI to directly inspect research and development facilities, laboratories, production rooms, and medical equipment showroom in ASKI's plant 1 area, Citeureup, Bogor.

Medical Devices by the Nation's Children with Domestic Component Level

In the production process of 2D USG, Anthropometry Set, and Autoclave, ASKI collaborates with the University of Indonesia and the research and development division of Astra Otoparts, namely the Workshop for Industrial Equipment (WINTEQ) Division and the Engineering Development Center (EDC) Division to build an ecosystem in realizing accelerated achievement of independence. in the availability of national health equipment. Moreover, based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the number of medical devices from abroad circulating in Indonesia reached 87.1% or much larger than domestic medical devices which were only 12.9% until October 2022.

By empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for some of their production processes, ASKI medical equipment products already have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) value that exceeds the minimum value required by the government and has also obtained a TKDN certificate. The TKDN content for medical devices produced by ASKI is above 40%.

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia also stated that the efforts made by the Astra group in fostering and empowering MSMEs, if carried out properly, will improve the quality of these MSME products, so that in the future an ecosystem can be formed to jointly build the domestic medical equipment industry.

"It is hoped that medical equipment products produced by ASKI in the future will also be able to be absorbed through the procurement of government goods and services and compete in the global arena so that they will also support the national economy," said ASKI President Director Prihatanto Agung Lesmono.

The advantages of the medical devices launched include the 2D ultrasound product, which can perform telemedicine or tele-USG in real time, making it easier to evaluate fetal development from a distance, dual probes (convec and transvaginal), equipped with a webcam, and print the results of the examination without the need for a special type of printer. , and can be connected to WiFi.

Autoclave products have a fast-sterilization feature which only takes 4 minutes at a temperature of 134 oC, there is a vacuum process with more sterile results, as well as an automatic drying process so that medical equipment can be used immediately, has a water tank capacity of 6.5 liters so that the sterilization process is more efficient. often with only one water filling, and is equipped with a 4.3 inch LCD touchscreen for easier operation.

As for the anthropometry set, it is equipped with a Bluetooth connection on the Digital Flat Scale and Digital Baby Scale which can be connected to an application that can be downloaded via the Play Store to store the weight measurement results from the patient, as well as being connected to the RI Ministry of Health reporting system, having an accuracy that is in accordance with the Ministry of Health standards. RI, and has used the best medical grade materials.
