Signing of MoU between ASKI-UGM-BIM for Research & Development of Domestic Medical Devices

PT Astra Component Indonesia (ASKI) is collaborating with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and PT Berkah Installation Medika (BIM) which includes research and development of medical device production (alkes). This collaboration is stated in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Friday, December 10, 2021 by ASKI President Director Prihatanto Agung Lesmono, UGM Vice Chancellor for Cooperation Prof. Dr. Paripurna, SH, M. Hum., LL.C, and President Director of BIM Boge Ronny.

The signing which was carried out at the ASKI Plant, Citeureup, Bogor, was also attended by the Director of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk Lay Agus, the Acting Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (Dirjen Falmakes) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia drg. Arianti Anaya, M.K.M., representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Bimo Widjayanto, S.E., Ak., M.B.A., P.H.D., BIM Founder Lissa Imelia, as well as invitations from Indonesian Medical Device Entrepreneurs.

The moment of signing the MoU is also a place for discussion and exchange of ideas about the problems faced by the medical equipment industry as well as looking for alternative solutions that can be given as well as a review of the ASKI production area. "Hopefully this collaboration between the government, private sector, and academics can accelerate research and development of medical equipment production to meet national-scale needs," concluded Prihatanto.
