“From the laboratory to society, from innovation to real action.” This is the spirit carried by PT Astra Komponen Indonesia (ASKI), a subsidiary of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, through two strategic initiatives: introducing the Airbilinest phototherapy device for neonatal jaundice treatment and providing free prenatal check-ups using the Grin 4D Ultrasound in Cileungsi, Bogor.
Did you know? Around 51.47% of newborns in Indonesia experience neonatal jaundice and require prompt and proper treatment. To address this challenge, ASKI collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga (Unair), and IDS Medical Systems Indonesia (idsMED) to develop Airbilinest—an innovative LED phototherapy device that is compact, energy-efficient, and clinically compliant.
This collaboration was formalized through an MoU signing on July 16 in Jakarta. Airbilinest is designed for use across different levels of healthcare facilities, including community health centers (Puskesmas), with nationwide distribution supported by idsMED.
“Guided by Astra’s Catur Dharma philosophy, we believe our existence must bring value. Airbilinest represents our contribution to supporting national healthcare independence,” said Pramonoaji Sugiarto, Director of ASKI.
Beyond innovation, ASKI also reaches directly into communities. Through the Astra Kampung Berseri CSR initiative, ASKI organized free prenatal check-ups on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Pos KRL Berani Asri, Cileungsi, Bogor.
The check-ups were conducted by specialist doctors from Hermina Hospital Bogor using Grin 4D Ultrasound, a locally made, high-quality device featuring real-time 3D/4D imaging, multi-probe functionality, and a user-friendly interface. The device is already trusted by many obstetricians and has proven its reliability.
In addition to ultrasound services, ASKI also provided its own digital weighing scales and sphygmomanometers, and donated a set of anthropometric tools to the local community health center to support child growth monitoring.
The combination of research, domestic production, and wide distribution demonstrates that cross-sector collaboration can bring tangible impact. Through innovations like Airbilinest and real actions such as free services with Grin 4D Ultrasound, ASKI not only strengthens the national medical device industry but also directly addresses community needs.
Through both innovation and action, ASKI continues to advance access to healthcare for all levels of society.
