Astra Otoparts is an automotive component company group consisting of manufacturing and trading business lines. The implementation of digital transformation is carried out both in the manufacturing and trading lines as well as in the company administration area. This digital transformation is carried out to strengthen operational excellence in all lines by modernizing key business processes and becoming an enabler for future growth.
Implementation in the manufacturing area brings all companies in the Astra Otoparts group to increase productivity and speed of decision making through several levels of integrated automation, digitalization and connectivity implementation, towards the implementation of Industry 4.0. This is done to reach the smart factory level. The existence of the Winteq Division within PT Astra Otoparts Tbk as the implementor in charge of the Integrated Automation System is also very helpful in increasing digitalization readiness in various companies. Improvements in the inspection process, including automation of quality inspection tests combined with the application of artificial intelligence (AI) carried out at one of the companies in the Astra Otoparts group, were able to result in an increase in inspection speed without compromising product quality.
In addition, implementation in the trading area at Astraotoshop.com integrates all interactions with customers, both B2B and B2C as well as the entire network, to create a seamless customer experience through their omnichannel. Through Astraotoshop.com, customers can order components online and install them offline on the Shop&Drive network. This transformation has actually been initiated since 2012 in the Astra Otoparts trading business line through digitizing the ordering process by Shop&Drive customers so that it can be done without being limited by space and time. Over time, with the main focus on convenience for customers, the digitization process was then expanded to the implementation of payment gateways, digital transactions supported by a warehouse management system, to the e-commerce site Astraotoshop.com.
All of these initiatives have proven successful in increasing Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) for both B2B and B2C transactions as well as increasing the efficiency of internal processes. The administrative area (back office) has also experienced a significant digital transformation with the implementation of RPA (robotic process automation) and maximizing digital documents and approvals throughout the business process to increase productivity, as well as overcome pandemic conditions that require many employees to work from home (WFH).
“In recent years, we have increasingly recognized the importance of digital transformation in doing our business. With the theme of Astra Otoparts' 2022 strategy, "Growth Thru Digitalization and Excellence," we continuously carry out various digital transformation initiatives, both in our manufacturing, trading and back office businesses, to achieve long-term sustainability," concluded the President Director of Astra Otoparts. Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim.
