TANGERANG: PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, through its GS Astra brand, launched the EV Auxiliary Battery and GS CaRe (Customer Assistance & Retailer Empowerment) at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 on Sunday (August 2). Coinciding with Astra Otoparts' 50th anniversary, these two innovations reflect GS Astra's commitment to delivering solutions that are increasingly relevant to developments in the automotive industry and evolving customer needs.

As the adoption of electrified vehicles continues to grow, the need for specially designed supporting components is also increasing. At the same time, many vehicle owners still only check their battery condition when they encounter problems. Addressing these needs, GS Astra introduced the EV Auxiliary Battery as a solution for electrified vehicles, alongside GS CaRe, which promotes a preventive care culture through battery education and health checks.

The EV Auxiliary Battery is an auxiliary battery specifically designed to support the 12-volt electrical systems of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). The product offers longer lifetime, higher performance, seamless plug-and-play integration in accordance with OEM specifications, and EV-ready performance, and is available through the GS Astra distribution network across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, GS CaRe is a mobile service that provides battery health checks, vehicle electrical system education, product consultations, and various interactive activities for the public. As an initial phase, the program will be available in Jakarta, Bandung, and Batam, before expanding to other cities.
