(“AVP”), today (27/01) successfully carried out the first delivery of automotive components to Honda Philippines Inc. (“HPI”).

This first delivery marks an important milestone in the commencement of operations in the Philippines and further strengthens the Company’s role in the global supply chain, particularly in the Asian region.

The event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by President Director of Astra Otoparts Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim, Vice President Director of Astra Otoparts Yusak Kristian Solaeman, Senior Assistant Vice President Parts & Procurement of Honda Philippines Inc. Shinsuke Inoue, and Executive Assistant of the City Mayor of Calamba Abel Landicho.

“This component delivery reflects Honda Philippines’ trust in Astra Otoparts’ manufacturing capabilities and serves as the first step in our long-term commitment to establishing automotive component manufacturing operations in the Philippines. Through the manufacturing facilities of AOPP and AVP, we are ready to support the development of the automotive industry in line with the growth of the two-wheeler market in the Philippines,” said Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim, President Director of Astra Otoparts.

In the initial phase, the first delivery covers six engine and frame component products for two-wheeled vehicles. This reflects the readiness of AOPP and AVP to meet component requirements from two-wheeler Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the Philippines.

Automotive Sector Growth

The Philippine automotive sector is one of the industries experiencing growth, supported by a favorable investment climate for foreign direct investment. With stable economic growth at around 6% and increasing mobility needs of its 116.8 million population, the Philippines is one of the Asian countries with a growing two-wheeler market.

Over the past five years, the two-wheeler market has recorded an average annual growth of 7.5%. In 2025, two-wheeler sales in the Philippines are estimated to reach 1.7 million units. From 2025 to 2030, two-wheeler sales in the country are projected to grow by approximately 16.5%.

With a two-wheeler density ratio of 1:7, or one two-wheeler per seven residents, the Philippine market offers attractive long-term prospects.

In line with these prospects, the development of AOPP and AVP manufacturing facilities in the Philippines is expected to support Astra Otoparts’ expansion in building sustainable manufacturing capabilities across Asia. Going forward, these facilities are expected to contribute to strengthening the Philippine automotive industry and economy, while also supporting Astra Otoparts’ growth in the Asian region.
