Celebrating 50 Years, Astra Otoparts Introduces KYB Aftermarket Solutions for Various Vehicle Segments

TANGERANG: As it celebrates its 50th anniversary, PT Astra Otoparts Tbk ("Astra Otoparts") continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering innovation for Indonesia's automotive industry.

Carrying the theme "Leap to Lead" for its 50th anniversary, Astra Otoparts, through its KYB brand, launched a range of new products for two-wheelers and four-wheelers at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 on Friday (August 7).

Held at Pre Function Hall 3 and Pre Function Hall 10, the launch provided the public with the first opportunity to see KYB's latest products firsthand, following their earlier introduction to distributor networks and business partners during the 50th Anniversary of KYB Indonesia celebration.

The launch of KYB's latest products was driven by the continued development of the aftermarket market. According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the number of motor vehicles in Indonesia reached approximately 172.9 million units in 2025, reflecting the substantial demand for quality replacement components.

As the market continues to evolve, consumer needs are also becoming increasingly diverse, ranging from communities restoring legendary motorcycles and users of modern premium scooters to passenger and commercial vehicle owners seeking quality replacement components that meet manufacturer standards.

"For 50 years, Astra Otoparts has continued to grow alongside the development of Indonesia's automotive industry. Through the spirit of Leap to Lead, we are committed to continuously delivering innovations that create added value for customers. The launch of KYB's latest products at GIIAS 2026 is one manifestation of this commitment, offering increasingly comprehensive aftermarket solutions for various vehicle segments without compromising quality, comfort, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards," said Martogi Siahaan, Director of Astra Otoparts.

KYB Innovations for the Two-Wheeler Segment

Amid growing interest in the restoration of legendary motorcycles, KYB introduced the KYB Zeto front shock absorber and KYB Premium rear shock absorber for the Yamaha RX King under the theme "Restore the Original Ride." The products adopt an OEM Look and OEM Specification concept, retaining the original appearance while delivering performance in accordance with manufacturer standards.

The KYB Zeto front shock absorber features an elegant black finish and an embossed KYB logo on both shock tubes. Meanwhile, the KYB Premium rear shock absorber retains the original character of the RX King through its silver-chrome body and black springs, creating a sporty appearance without losing the vehicle's original character.

KYB also expanded its product lineup for modern Vespa models through the launch of KYB Premium front and rear shock absorbers for the Vespa LX 150, under the theme "Ride in Comfort, Arrive in Style." The launch continues KYB's expansion following the earlier introduction of products for the Vespa Primavera. Maintaining the OEM Look concept, the shock absorbers feature a gray finish and black springs that preserve the vehicle's original appearance while enhancing riding comfort.

In the two-wheeler segment, KYB also expanded its shock absorber options for daily-use scooters through the launch of K-Elite and K-Alpha for the Honda Vario and Yamaha Mio. These products continue the expansion of KYB's performance shock absorber lineup, following their earlier availability for the Yamaha XMAX and Aerox. Carrying the theme "Style Meets Performance," both products are designed for riders seeking a stylish and sporty appearance while offering adjustable shock absorber settings to suit different riding needs.

Expanding Aftermarket Solutions for Passenger and Commercial Vehicles

In addition to strengthening its two-wheeler lineup, KYB is expanding its four-wheeler product portfolio to address the needs of Indonesia's passenger and commercial vehicle markets.

For passenger vehicles, KYB launched the KYB Premium with an original specification concept for the front and rear shock absorbers of the Toyota Innova Zenix, designed to maintain riding comfort and driving characteristics in accordance with manufacturer standards. Meanwhile, the KYB Ultra with a special performance concept for the rear shock absorbers of the Toyota Avanza and Veloz offers enhanced performance through a larger tube diameter and more stable damping characteristics, providing improved comfort and vehicle control.

In the commercial vehicle segment, KYB introduced the latest generation of KYB Heavy Duty front and rear shock absorbers for the Mitsubishi Canter. The product features a tube diameter approximately 15–20% larger and damping force increased by up to 20% compared with the previous series, providing greater load support, improved stability, and enhanced durability for commercial vehicle operations.

Beyond expanding its shock absorber lineup, KYB also officially entered the Steering Parts category with the launch of Stabilizer Links, Tie Rod Ends, and Rack Ends, further strengthening its chassis system solutions. These products are developed using high-quality materials with precision levels that meet original equipment standards to improve vehicle stability, steering accuracy, driving safety, and component durability over extended use.

With the addition of these product lines, KYB further strengthens its position as a comprehensive solution provider for vehicle suspension and steering systems in Indonesia's aftermarket market.

In line with Astra Otoparts' 50th anniversary, this initiative reflects the Company's ongoing efforts to deliver innovations that address evolving customer needs while supporting the advancement of Indonesia's automotive industry.
