Human Resources and Communities, the Key to Digital Strength in the Industrial Age 4.0

Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition showcases the strength of industrial technology from the exhibitors, especially those brought by Indonesia as the country's official partner. In this event, participating companies and institutions displayed innovations and principles that have successfully supported the transformation of technology into industry 4.0. One of the companies featured was PT Astra Otoparts Tbk as a co-exhibitor of the curated results of the Ministry of Industry.

The manifestation of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk's seriousness in carrying out digital transformation is shown through the Workshop for Industrial Equipment (WINTEQ), which is a division engaged in engineering solutions, to build competitiveness in the manufacturing world, especially for the Astra Otoparts Group. "The initial engineering solutions started with Special Purpose Machinery products," said WINTEQ Chief Operating Officer, Donny Novanda.

WINTEQ also initiated an Integrated Automation System to meet the needs for quality products that are produced efficiently. On the other hand, the implementation of this automation system has an impact on shifting the competence of engineers in the company. The need to interact with relatively new technology requires a competent HR infrastructure. "So, the automation solution provided must be accompanied by sufficient education for engineers who use automation products. That's why WINTEQ equips its engineers with a Technical Training Program, "said Donny.

In addition, in the industrial era 4.0, WINTEQ is developing the application of the SMART Factory. This project was initiated through various pilot projects that use technology specifically to solve problems in the production process, such as a shop floor production system that helps the process of making direct and fast production decisions with the help of Internet of Things technology. Through quick decision making, the obstacles that reduce productivity on the production floor can be identified in real time and resolved immediately, thereby increasing productivity.

Until 2020, WINTEQ has produced more than 1500 products, consisting of the implementation of Special Purposse Machinery, Integrated Automation System, and SMART Factory. "With appropriate technological innovations, WINTEQ contributes to the manufacture of products used in various industries in the context of digital transformation to realize industry 4.0," he added.

Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier said, At the Hannover Messe 2021, WINTEQ showed the application of digital technology that has been implemented in the Astra Otoparts Group subsidiary. "This company is included in the Global Business and Market theme and displays quality products produced through the application of Industry 4.0 technology," said Taufiek. Apart from WINTEQ, participating in the International Division of PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk by displaying a variety of spare parts products including Aspira, Aspira Premio, and Incoe which have been marketed to more than 40 countries and are able to compete globally.
